Welcome to the Natural Sciences Homepage! The Natural Sciences Department at Middle Georgia State University serves a diverse
student body ranging from science majors to students taking science courses for their core curriculum. We offer several
programs for science majors including the Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. The B.S. in Biology degree has two
tracks: the Biology track which prepares students for graduate school or pre-professional schools (e.g., medical,
dental, veterinary, pharmacy); or the Education track, which prepares students to teach Biology in secondary schools.
The Regents Engineering Pathway Program (REPP) allows students to take all of the mathematics, science and
many of the engineering courses required in the first two years of the Georgia Tech engineering curricula. Upon
successful completion of the REPP requirements at MGA, students are admitted to Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, UGA or Mercer University to work toward
completion of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. We also offer Associates of Science degrees in
Engineering Technology and in Natural Science.
The science faculty at MGA are dedicated to helping students achieve their educational goals. We have a number of faculty
engaged in undergraduate research projects, which take the learning experience beyond the classroom and into the laboratory
or field, giving students skills that will help them in the workplace and beyond. Our students have gone on to be admitted
to post-baccalaureate programs at Georgia Regents University, Mercer University and to work for Georgia Department of
Natural Resources. Of students who completed the REPP program at MGA, 84% successfully earned a B.S. in Engineering
degree from their chosen school and 30% of those students graduated with honors!
If you are seeking rigorous programs with small class sizes, highly qualified faculty and the opportunity to
attain your educational goals, the Department of Natural Sciences is the place for you! Please contact us
