Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice

Welcome to the home of The Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice at Middle Georgia State University. Our faculty includes teacher-scholars who seek to educate our majors using the latest theory, research, and applications in the behavioral sciences. Our programs in Psychology, Public Service, Social Work, Sociology, and Criminal Justice produce graduates who know how to enact social change by making meaningful connections between textbook theory and practice.

Our Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology is the newest in the region, and emphasizes a comprehensive approach to understanding behavior, ranging from biological, developmental, and clinical perspectives to social, cultural, and applied analyses.

The Bachelor of Science in Public Service is among the College’s oldest degree offerings and has a multi-decade track record of graduating students who are ready to immediately make a difference in direct-service settings.

The Department’s newest offering is the cutting-edge Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. The program prepares students for positions in a wide array of in-demand career paths.

We also offer Associate degree programs in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology.

We invite you to come meet with a faculty advisor today to plan your professional path in the behavioral sciences.
