BankMobile Vibe Account
Middle Georgia State University delivers refunds of tuition, fees, scholarships and financial aid remaining balances to BankMobile (formerly HigherOne). Students may elect to have BankMobile send their refund to a bank account of their choice or have BankMobile issue them a BankMobile Vibe Account – with a MasterCard debit card that can be used anywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted.
Once the student has registered, BankMobile Disbursements will mail a refund preference selection kit to the address on file in the Registrar’s Office to every new student.
Students do not have to open the BankMobile debit/checking account. However, students will need the kit mailed to make a choice as to refund method. If you don’t set up a refund preference immediately, we suggest you do not throw it away, keep it at a safe place, in case it is needed.
When selecting a refund preference, students have the opportunity to choose to have their refund sent to them in one of two ways:
- Automated deposit (ACH) to a bank account of the student's choice
- BankMobile Vibe Account
The BankMobile Vibe Account is the quickest option, while ACH deposit usually takes 2 - 3 business days longer to receive.
Refund Preference Tutorial
The BankMobile Vibe Account includes a debit MasterCard® that can be used to make purchases at millions of locations worldwide and online, or wherever Debit MasterCard® is accepted.
All of the debit purchases show up directly on the BankMobile account online bank statement so there is the added benefit of always knowing how much money you have spent, where you have spent it and how much is left in the account. Usually students would have to pre-qualify for a Debit MasterCard®, but Middle Georgia State University students can get the power of Debit MasterCard® as another benefit of being enrolled. Also, BankMobile allows MGA students to use any of the 55,000 Allpoint ATMs across the country and around the world surcharge-free.
More information can be found at the BankMobile website or you can call the Bursar's Office at 478-471-2705 if you have questions.
