Betzy Leslie Santana '12, B.S. Middle Grades Education, currently a special education teacher at Feagin Mill Middle School, Houston County
“College is an investment in myself – it’s time, money and energy in order to not be limited in life.”
For Betzy Santana, investing in Middle Georgia State just made sense. It was convenient and affordable. It also turned out to be incredibly personal.
The greatest thing she discovered at MGA was support: professors who were always willing to dig in and have the conversation.
“When I was a student ambassador I’d tell prospective students, ‘Don’t be afraid to email your professors! Because they will respond.’”
Her other advice? Network as much as possible – and be open to new possibilities. Betzy’s current position in special ed came about during her student teaching experience, even though that wasn’t her major at the time.
To keep even more doors open, Betzy is currently pursuing a master’s degree in instructional technology.
“I love working with kids, but this gives me options,” she says.
“I think greatness is choosing to be a better version of yourself through your actions.”
Find your greatness.
