School of Health Sciences
Welcome to the School of Health Sciences at Middle Georgia State University!
Our programs are designed for those interested in the different aspects of the healthcare experience. For individuals interested in the clinical side of healthcare, programs in nursing, occupational therapy assistant and respiratory therapy are offered. In addition, the health services administration program is offered for those interested in the management of healthcare. For the convenience of the students, Middle Georgia State University offers health science classes in Cochran, Dublin, Macon, and Warner Robins.
Associate degrees are offered in nursing, occupational therapy assistant, and respiratory therapy.
Bachelor of science degrees are offered in health services administration and nursing.
A bridge program is available in nursing and respiratory therapy for licensed practitioners seeking professional growth.
A Master of Science in Nursing is also offered with emphasis in Adult/Gerontology Acute Care to train Nurse Practitioners in providing care to a broad population base.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the state of Georgia,
“Employment of healthcare occupations is projected to grow 19 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations, adding about 2.3 million new jobs. Healthcare occupations will add more jobs than any other group of occupations. This growth is expected due to an aging population and because federal health insurance reform should increase the number of individuals who have access to health insurance.”
If you need additional information for any of these programs, please contact us.
Let us be a partner in your path towards a rewarding career in one of our healthcare professions.
