Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the National Certification Examination for the Occupational Therapy Assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational
Therapy (NBCOT), which is located at 12 South Summit Avenue, Suite 100, Gaithersburg, MD 20877-4150. NBCOT’s telephone number is (301) 990-7979 and their fax number is (301) 869-8492. After successful
completion of this exam, the individual will be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In addition, most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually
based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination.
A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT Certification Exam or attain state licensure. Contact the Georgia Board of Occupational Therapy (478) 207-2440 and the National

Any falsification of information used for admission to the OTA program will be grounds for dismissal from the program. A person dismissed from the OTA program for falsifying information will be ineligible
for admission to any other Health Sciences program.
