With Knowledge@Work, Middle Georgia State University is committed to helping this generation of Middle Georgia college students become effective, proficient, and highly-motivated members of the workforce. Middle Georgia State’s Quality Enhancement Plan, Knowledge@Work, is an educational initiative focused on experiential learning. Through the Office of Experiential Learning, the institution seeks to identify and support new internship, service learning, and research opportunities that enhances learning for students and positions them for success in their career fields after graduation.

Community research partners:

Middle Georgia State University School of Business is home to the Center for Economic Analysis. Through its staff and affiliated faculty, CEA is tasked with providing research assistance to local businesses, governmental units, and other interested parties. http://www.mga.edu/business/cea.aspx

The CARE is a community based research organization within MGA that provides actionable intelligence – grant evaluations, needs assessments, and satisfaction research - to community partners, using the talent and skills of MGA faculty and students. The Middle Georgia State University Institute for Applied Aerospace Research (IAAR) focuses on conceptual development, prototyping, manufacturing processes, safety and quality management in the areas of advanced composite materials, aerospace structures and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Our principal goals are to create and disseminate knowledge in the application of advanced materials and processes, to enhance the educational process at Middle Georgia State University through faculty development and student interaction with the work of the Institute, and to support aerospace-related economic development in central Georgia. The Center for Cybersecurity Education and Applied Research (CCEAR), located within the School of Information Technology, will provide an avenue for education and research in information assurance, computer network security, digital forensics, cryptography, risk assessment and mitigation, disaster recovery and management, security regulations and compliance and information security management. The Center’s Director is Assistant Professor Jonathan Yerby.
