Magnolia Soap Box Derby

Team building, problem solving, scientific thinking, and engineering solutions to immediate issues – those are the takeaways for Middle Georgia high schoolers who take part in the Magnolia Soap Box Derby Gravity Racing Challenge. As the presenting partner for this fun and educational friendly competition, Middle Georgia State University is proud to help offer the youth of our region an opportunity to participate in a hands-on STEM learning initiative.

We’re in it to win it, too – this year, Middle Georgia State will be entering the Magnolia Soap Box Derby in the Professional division. Our racer, a Super Stock Soap Box car, is currently under construction by members of the school’s Gay Straight Alliance with support from the Knowledge@Work program. We’re looking forward to seeing how well our Knights shape up against teams from across middle Georgia – and to having a great time at an exciting, family-friendly community event.

We look forward to seeing you at the Magnolia Soap Box Derby on April 8!
