University Housing
Checklist:
- Review MGA's Housing Residency Requirements
- Pay your application fee through the StarRez portal generated through your SWORDS account beginning DATE TBA. You must have your ID number to log in.
- Log into SWORDS, follow this path to access StarRez: Student (Tab) > StarRez Housing Portal > Login.
- Complete an application and pay your one-time application fee of $155.
- At this time you will only be applying for housing, you will return at a later date to complete the remaining steps of the housing process. Date TBA.
- Attend an Orientation. Click here to register for Orientation
- Your room status and/or confirmed reservation will appear when you log into StarRez under Profile Summary.
Note: There is no deadline to complete the housing application. However, the earlier you apply, the greater possibility of getting your first choices in housing.

Important Dates:
- Cancellations must be requested to prevent a penalty. Cancellations sent after the deadline will result in a $500.00 charge to the student's account. To cancel your housing assignment, please send an email to Please include your name, ID number, and reason for canceling. Last day to cancel is July 10th, 2023.
- Students who are assigned housing AFTER July 10th, 2023 are still subject to the $500.00 cancellation fee.
- For Fall 2023, students must be registered for classes before your room assignment can be confirmed and processed. Housing and meal plan charges will not be posted to your student account until you have registered for classes.
- All housing reservations and class schedules will be dropped if fees are not paid by the fee payment deadline. Fee payment deadline is July 26, 2023.
- Middle Georgia State University reserves the right to cancel your reservation due to non-registration.
