Group Tours

We are thrilled you are interested in bringing a group to tour Middle Georgia State University!

Group tours are offered for high schools, educational programs, community-based organizations, and extracurricular groups working with high school students. Our group tour is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes long and is an outdoor/indoor walking tour.

Group tours are offered ONLY on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. on the Macon campus and we can only accommodate 50 students.

Group tours are offered ONLY on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. on the Cochran campus and we can only accommodate 50 students.

Please review the following before requesting a group tour.

  • Groups must have at least one chaperone for every 15 students.
  • Only 50 students can be accommodated on a group tour.
  • Group tours are NOT available on Fridays or on weekends.
  • Submit your group tour request form at least 4 weeks in advance of your desired date for tour.
  • Groups arriving more than 15 minutes late cannot be guaranteed a tour. Our tour guides are students and their class schedules need to be accommodated. If your group is late, the tour may be modified or canceled.
  • If your group would like to make plans to eat at our dining facility on the Cochran or Macon campus, please contact lauren.gibbs2@sodexo.com.
  • Group tours are subject to cancellation if weather does not permit.

We will make every effort to accommodate your group tour request; however, due to high demand and limited student tour guides we may be unable. Please do not make travel arrangements until we confirm your group tour.  We will contact you within a week of your group tour request.

Things to remember:

  • Tour chaperones are to remain with the group throughout the campus visit. It is the responsibility of the chaperones to maintain order while the group is on campus.
  • If you must cancel your group tour, please give at least three days notice. Failure to do so may limit future schedule availability for your organization.
  • Please arrive on time, allowing for possible delays in travel.
  • Encourage your students to be engaged on the campus tour.
