Career Development Services for Alumni

MGA Graduates who need career development assistance may schedule virtual and in-person appointments with a career advisor in the Career Center portion of Handshake.  Career Advisors can discuss career transitions, graduate programs, job search tips, salary negotiations, resume and cover letter reviews, social media branding, and other career-related topics.

We also work with alumni who want to hire MGA students and alumni for jobs and internships.  To get started as an MGA employer, you can create an employer account on Handshake or email our office.

MGA alumni can use Handshake to access all job postings available from MGA employers. 

Update Your Current Handshake Account to Your Personal Email
If you used Handshake as a student, we recommend updating that account to your personal email address.  Email us at  so that we can switch your account to your personal email address.  

First-time Handshake Alumni Users
Activating Handshake for the First Time as an Alumnus:  If you never used your Handshake account with your MGA email as a student, you can create a new account with your personal email address.  After making your request, email us at  so that we can verify that you attended MGA.

Handshake is the number one job search tool used by college career centers across the country, so be sure to take advantage of this resource. Since it's a national network of college career centers sharing their employer database, you have access to jobs and internships in middle Georgia and beyond.

Explore Careers & Salary Info with Stepping Blocks
New graduates can log in to Stepping Blocks for up to one year after graduation with their MGA email address.  This innovative platform includes a personality assessment and provides data-driven career information related to salary and the most popular employers among new graduates.  The platform also includes a job board that helps you link directly to each company's website.  Watch the video to learn more.

NETWORK WITH THE MGA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The Office of Alumni Services also hosts a variety of events each year that help you meet other alumni.  While these events are not focused on employment, all networking has the possibility of leading to your next opportunity.
