Biography: I have been working at Middle Georgia State University (formerly Macon State College) since 2005. For over 20 years I have been working in education. My career started as a 4th-grade teacher in New Orleans Public Schools in New Orleans, LA. At Nelson Elementary I served as 4th-grade Chairperson, Upper-Grade Chair, Science Coordinator, and Comer Facilitator. I later accepted a position at Drury University in Springfield, MO as Director of the Developmental School Program. As the Director, I coordinated the partnership between Springfield Public Schools, Drury University, and Yale University. In addition, I taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Drury. In 2005, my family and I moved to Macon I was interested in working at Macon State College because it afforded me the opportunity to develop a teacher education program. I am a founding faculty member of Macon State College's School of Education. I am also privileged to serve as the founding Chair of the Department of Teacher Education and Social Work. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students and parents from diverse backgrounds. Those experiences have shaped the person I am today.

On a personal note, I married my high school sweetheart, Byron. We have two sons, Brandon and Nicholas, and a daughter, Kelsey.
