Transient Student Aid
As a visiting student to MGA, you have been admitted on a temporary basis to earn academic credit that will be transferred back to your home institution.
Contact the financial aid office at your home school to apply for Hope or Zell Miller Scholarship as a transient student. Your school will notify our financial aid office if you are eligible. Any remaining fees for the semester should be paid by the payment deadline.

Your FAFSA is not required. Federal student aid recipients will need to apply for aid at their home school. The Consortium Agreement from your home school can be sent to .
After the no-show reporting period at MGA has expired, our financial aid office will notify your home school of your enrollment status and cost of attendance for the term. Be prepared to pay all fees out of pocket by the payment deadline. If you are eligible for federal student aid, it will be disbursed to you at your home school.

The Office of Financial Aid can assist you with applying for aid for transient coursework.
All students must complete the Transient Permission Form in the Registrar’s Office. After permission has been granted, the Registrar’s Office will send a copy of the form to the Office of Financial Aid. The steps listed below will need to be completed by the student to apply for federal or state aid.
At the end of the semester, your academic transcript will need to be sent from the host college to the Registrar’s Office at Middle Georgia State University.
If you currently receive Hope or Zell Miller Scholarship, submit the Hope/Zell Miller Scholarship Transient Form to the Office of Financial Aid. After your eligibility has been determined, our office will notify your host college. You are responsible for paying all fees at your host college by their payment deadline. If you receive federal student aid and need assistance with the cost of attendance at your host college, print the MGA Transient Student Instructions. After our office receives all requested documents, and if you are eligible for federal student aid, it will be disbursed to your account at MGA. You are responsible for paying all fees at your host college by their published payment deadline.
A student must be enrolled at least half time (6 semester hours) to borrow a federal direct student loan.
