"We are trying to improve access to degrees and decrease costs," says Art Recesso, the assistant provost of Innovation and Outreach at Middle Georgia State University.

He says this will streamline the process of obtaining a degree by preventing cadets from having to repeat similar courses that they already did in mandated training.

"After they're finished at the training center, and they're deployed to a local law enforcement agency anywhere in the state, they can continue their degree online," Recesso says.
