MGA Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications

As it has the past two years, the Foundation uses the online application software provided by STARS Online. STARS stands for Scholarship Tracking And Review System and provides greater efficiency for both the student and the review committees in applying for and awarding scholarships.

To apply for a scholarship, you will need to visit the online application portal and access your user name and password. PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT FIRST STEP. Your username and a temporary password have already been automatically generated in STARS using information imported into the application from SWORDS. To retrieve your login and temporary password you should:
• From the STARS Online page, click on Retrieve Password
• Enter your email address – you must use the mga.edu email address provided by the university.
• You will receive an email with your login name and password
• Use your login and temporary password to access the online application.
• You will be prompted to change your password once you enter the system.
• You must complete this step even if you completed an application in a previous award cycle.
• DO NOT click on the Sign Up button and create a new profile!
Once in the system, you will then complete one scholarship application. Upon completing the application, STARS will match your application with those scholarships for which you may qualify. You will then have the opportunity to select which of these scholarships you would like to submit an application. Please note that new scholarships may be added throughout the year so please check back regularly for new opportunities.
The current application cycle opened this morning and will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on January 31, 2017. At this point, the application cycle will be turned off, allowing sufficient time for application review before the end of the academic semester. Reviewing the applications will take several weeks. The Foundation expects to complete the review and notify the applicants by April 15, 2017. Please do not contact the Office of Development before that date to see if you received a scholarship.
