For the fourth consecutive year, Middle Georgia State University (MGA) and Macon-Bibb are co-hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at Coleman Hill in downtown Macon.

The event, open to the public, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11. Participants will remember the sacrifices of those with the 151st Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd Rainbow Division, who lost their lives during World War I. The ceremony takes place at the Coleman Hill monument established in memory of members of the battalion. In addition, MGA President Dr. Christopher Blake will present challenge coins to veterans who attend the event. Both Blake and Macon-Bibb Mayor Robert Reichert will make brief remarks.

For more information about the Coleman Hill event, contact Dee Lindsey, MGA’s executive director of Veteran & Military Services, at dee.lindsey@mga.edu.

All five campuses of MGA will fly the P.O.W. flag on Veterans Day. Each campus – Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins - will host “Cards and Letters to Veterans” events on different dates for students, faculty, and staff.
