Tell us about your career path.

“My career path after graduation was definitely a challenge. After working at several jobs, I hadn’t found anything that made me happy.  So, in 2018, I launched a candle business called Hill Side Candles. Our candles and wax melts are 100% soy wax, eco-friendly, and vegan. We are providing a safer and non-toxic atmosphere for everyone who enjoys using candles.” (Here is a WMAZ story about Combs’s business.)

How did your Middle Georgia State experiences benefiting you in your career and/or personal life?

“I always knew I wanted to start my own business and I was able to achieve it by doing some deep soul- searching. MGA helped me find confidence within myself that I never knew existed. I was able to find my greatness by striving for it in everything I do.”

What advice do you have for students now studying at your alma mater?

“My advice is to encourage students to take advantage of the resources that MGA has to offer. Take the first step to try something new. It will open up possibilities that you never knew existed. I'm a prime example.”
