MGA’s Bachelor of Science In Social Work Earns CSWE Accreditation

Middle Georgia State’s University’s Bachelor of Science in Social Work has been granted full accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). This prestigious recognition reaffirms the program's commitment to excellence in social work education.

CSWE accreditation serves as a seal of approval and recognition for social work programs that meet the highest standards of quality and competence. Accreditation means that Middle Georgia State’s social work degree, offered since fall 2020, has successfully undergone a rigorous evaluation process by CSWE, which assesses various aspects such as curriculum, faculty qualifications, student support, and community engagement.

"This recognition highlights our dedication to maintaining excellence in social work education,” said Dr. Rebekah Hazlett-Knudsen, MGA associate professor of social work who oversees the degree program. “It reinforces our commitment to producing compassionate, highly skilled professionals who are equipped to fill professional workforce needs with organizations and agencies that address the many societal challenges in our communities."

Founded in 1952, the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is the national association representing social work education in the United States. Its members include more than 800 accredited baccalaureate and master’s degree social work programs and their affiliated social work educators, students, and staff, as well as practitioners and agencies dedicated to advancing quality social work education.
