More Than 800 Students Set To Graduate At MGA’s Fall 2023 Commencement Ceremonies

About 810 students are candidates for graduation at Middle Georgia State University’s (MGA’s) fall 2023 commencement ceremonies.

Five ceremonies will take place over a two-day period: Wednesday, December 6, and Thursday, December 7. All ceremonies will take place at the Recreation & Wellness Center on MGA’s Macon Campus and livestreamed at mga.edu/live.

Of the graduation candidates, 120 are graduating with master’s degrees or graduate certificates while 596 will be collecting their bachelor’s degrees. The rest are graduating with associate’s degrees or certificates in career programs.

Wednesday, December 6

12:30 p.m. - Commencement speaker: Gwen Collins, President and CEO, Collins Manufacturing Company

4 p.m. – Commencement speaker: Don Avery, President and CEO, Fairview Park Hospital

School of Health & Natural Sciences

Thursday, December 7

9 a.m. - Commencement speaker: Dr. Cassandra Miller-Washington, Director of Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education, Bibb County Public Schools

School of Education & Behavioral Sciences

  • Department of Education & Social Work

School of Arts & Letters

12:30 p.m. – Commencement speaker: Brig. Gen. Jon A. Eberlan, Commander, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base

4 p.m. – Commencement speaker: Col. Sheldon B. Wilson, Commander, 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard

The student speakers are the co-presidents of MGA’s Student Government Association: Willie Usher, Jr., and Ransford Williams.
