For the eighth consecutive year, Middle Georgia State University (MGA) and Macon-Bibb are co-hosting a Veterans Day ceremony at Coleman Hill in downtown Macon.
The event, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10. The ceremony takes place at the Coleman Hill monument established in memory of those battalion members.
Students from the Westside High School Air Force JROTC will conduct the Posting of the Colors. Air Force Master Sgt. (retired) Isaac Taylor, campus services coordinator and military student specialist at MGA, will lead the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer. Georgia Air National Guard Lt. Col. Chrissy Miner will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Jason Detter, MGA sophomore, will sing the hymn, "Amazing Grace." Speakers will include Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller and MGA President Christopher Blake.
