Middle Georgia State University Nursing Graduates Exceed State and National NCLEX Pass Rates

For a second consecutive year, Middle Georgia State University’s (MGA) nursing programs have exceeded the National Council Licensure Examination’s (NCLEX) state and national pass rate levels. 

According to official 2024 NCLEX results, MGA’s Associate of Science in Nursing program has a 96% pass rate for first-time test takers, while the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has a 100% pass rate. MGA nursing graduates’ remarkable scores surpass most regional competitors and transcend both state and national averages.

“Middle Georgia State continues to graduate exceptional, competent nurses who are eager to enter the profession of nursing. The faculty and staff continue to be committed to student success and the profession of nursing,” said Donna Ingram, assistant dean of the University’s School of Health & Natural Sciences.

MGA is one of eight bachelor programs in the state of Georgia with a 100% pass rate, with 136 total graduates becoming RNs. With 136 RNs passing their NCLEX in 2024, MGA is also ranked ninth out of 54 schools for the most new RNs in the state.

“I continue to be extremely proud of the success of our students and the faculty that are committed to excellence in nursing education at our university,” said Dr. Tara Underwood, dean of MGA’s School of Health & Natural Sciences.  “We are acutely aware of the shortage of nurses in Georgia’s workforce, and we are committed to endeavors that will meet that need in our state.”

The School of Health & Natural Sciences offers the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Post-Master's Certificate; Master of Science in Adult Gerontology/Acute Care; the pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing; the RN to BSN Completion Program; and the Associate of Science in Nursing.
