Career Goals: “After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to move forward with an advanced or master’s degree in public relations or strategic/corporate communication. My goal is to become a public relations specialist with a specialization in sports media or non-profit organizations. I chose public relations not only for my love of the communications field but also the purpose of PR on a deeper level; to build and cultivate relationships between organizations and their audiences.
She chose Middle Georgia State University because … “When initially searching for my undergraduate degree, I was on the hunt for a place where I could embrace my love for communications while also being close to my hometown. Middle Georgia State University has really become a sort of second home for me.”
The greatest thing she discovered about Middle Georgia State was … “The community. I have built and gotten to know an amazing community here, one that has supported me and encouraged me in my endeavors.”
Her greatest academic experience as a Middle Georgia State student has been … “My internship or taking the rhetoric and argumentation class. My internship has taught me so much, even beyond my field, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity. Taking that rhetoric and argumentation course was life and perspective changing in more ways than one.”
To her, greatness means … “Strength, resiliency, and a desire to want better. Greatness to me is understanding your current reality and going beyond it. More often than not there is something that arises that discourages us from doing what we aspire to do, whether that be short- or long-term. Greatness is having the power to continue on despite the adversities that the universe might throw at you. Those obstacles are there to help you grow and evolve. Greatness is taking both the pretty and ugly and embracing it to the best of our abilities because it is that that leads us to greatness. It is our responsibility to move with excellence and focus on the light that our purpose gives us to find that greatness.”
In five years … “I plan to go to graduate school and transition into my career, but I also hope to be continuing and enhancing my love to serve my community, whether it be through volunteerism, mentorship, or other ways.”
