Northern line train going southbound. I didn’t see my classmates and the train had just pulled off.
Another one would be along in two minutes according to the sign above. The map on the wall
showed the next five stops going southbound. I noticed none of stops looked familiar, but at the
level of anxiety I was experiencing, it didn’t matter. I saw a beige and light green sign on the
wall that said “WAY OUT” with a black arrow pointing in the direction that I had come from. I
contemplated turning around leaving and going back. I decided to push forward and I certainly
wasn’t going to let anyone in the station know that I was lost. I got on the train and rode two
stops.

         Nothing looked familiar and my Sprint cell phone service was nonexistent at that point. I
finally asked a station officer for information on how to get to Dalston. He told me that I would
need to get on the Victoria line. This line was the alternate line at my original station. I felt so
helpless. I was ready to give up and I was just going to take a failing grade and head back to the
dorms. That’s when my angel appeared with pale white hair pulled into a bun. She wore a green
cardigan and burgundy pants. Her fuschia lipstick was daring and she broke a smile to show her
perfect set of dentures. I will never forget that smile.

         I rode back to the Warren Street station. The whole time I sat I thought of how silly it was
of me to not find somewhere to get service and call my professor. “You are too old to be lost and
you need to get it together. Don’t let this situation overcome you!” is what I told myself. At
Warren Street station, I went upstairs to get on the Victoria line to go southbound. I rode two
stops and changed over at the Highbury & Islington station. As I walked past the theatre and
movie posters, I felt like I was finally on track. I took notice of how colorful the ads were. I also
noticed how everyone around me walked fast and took no notice of their surroundings. Then, I
remembered that I was a tourist and they probably see those posters regularly. I took in each
