The Office of Housing and Residence Life (HRL) is committed to providing a respectful environment that is caring, positive, and safe. We build a supportive community that welcomes all students. We provide lasting connections that encourage leadership, personal growth, and academic success.

Experience Trips
Experience Trips are off-campus fun trips that are utilized for student engagement. These trips are a fantastic way to foster a sense of community, build friendships, and provide students with memorable experiences. These activities can vary based on the interests of the students and range from local bowling trips and professional sporting events to museums and cultural events.
Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a service-oriented or volunteer-based alternative to the traditional spring break activities. Instead of spending the break on vacation, students participating in Alternative Spring Break engage in various community service projects or other forms of meaningful work. This allows students to contribute positively to society while gaining valuable experiences and perspectives.
Accommodations
The Office of Housing and Residence Life works closely with the Accessibility Services at MGA to provide residential accommodations to students with document medical or psychological disabilities. Students may request accommodations by contacting Accessibility Services at 478.934.3023
Community Guidelines
Living as a community goes beyond just cohabiting in the same building; it implies a sense of shared identity, mutual support, and a collective living experience. Living as a community can be rewarding and brings forth the opportunity for our students to create many memorable experiences.
Residents are responsible for reading, understanding, and following the expectations, policies, and procedures within the Resident Student Handbook and the Middle Georgia State University Student Handbook.
Employment Opportunities
The process for applying to be a Resident Assistant (RA) or student assistant in Housing and Residence Life (HRL) is a structured process. There are eligibility requirements that must be maintained in order to hold these positions. The process includes information sessions that occur in February and October and Interviews that occur in March and November. It's essential for students interested in these positions to pay attention to communication from the Assistant Director of Residence life and attend information sessions and adhere to application deadlines.
