Student Information
Hello Students!
ALG stands for Affordable Learning Georgia, which is an initiative of the University System of Georgia to help reduce educational costs for students.
There are a number of ways your faculty can do this, including adopting an open-access textbook or other materials. The difference between an open access textbook and a 'regular' textbook is that an open access textbook allows for free usage, and sometimes allows for the faculty to alter the textbook as he or she needs. This is because they have different licenses, the most common of which is a variation of the Creative Commons License. This allows for very flexible usage and alteration according to the author and the needs end user. You may notice the CC license logo around the internet as you cruise around.
