Refund Process

At MGA we make every effort to provide our students with the safest and fastest access to their refunds. Effective October 17th, 2024, students eligible for a refund with electronic out of pocket payments (credit card, eCheck, Flywire), will be refunded directly to the original source of their payment.  Any remaining credit not due to an out of pocket payment will be processed through BankMobile.

Example 1:

Out of pocket payments onlyDuke Knight paid his bill of $1,000 in full with a credit card online. Duke had to drop a class before the drop/add period was over, and his total balance decreased by $200. Duke now has a $200 credit, this credit will be processed back to his credit card used for the $1,000 payment.

Example 2:

Out of pocket & Financial AidDuke Knight paid his bill of $1,000 in full with a credit card online. Duke became eligible for financial aid and received $2,000. Duke now has a $2,000 credit. $1,000 will be processed back to his credit card used for the $1,000 payment and the remaining $1,000 will be refunded to him via BankMobile.

(Note these examples are hypothetical and do not consider any non-refundable service fees)

FAQs

  1. What if my card/account has been closed?
    If the account is closed, these refunds will be processed through BankMobile.
  2. What if I want it all refunds sent to BankMobile?
    Only payments in excess of out of pocket electronic payments are processed through BankMobile.
  3. How long will it take for me to see the credit on my card/account?
    It can take up to 10 business day.
  4. What if someone else paid for me and don’t expect a refund?
    Please communicate with the payer and have them send you the credit issued to their payment source.
