Finding Greatness: Madison Cosgrove
Balancing a challenging degree program like nursing while playing on a university sports team is not easy, but student-athlete Madison Cosgrove shows it can be done. An outfielder for Knights softball, Cosgrove is a recent Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week and leads the team this season with a .347 batting average. Soon to graduate, she hopes to begin her nursing career on a Med Surg or ICU hospital floor.

Student leader Hannah Colvard, a senior psychology major, was the primary organizer of the Mental Health Carnival on the Cochran Campus during MGA’s recent Homecoming Week. The event connected students with campus resources that can help support their overall wellbeing.

Andrea del Ma Borrero Cortes is a senior nursing student balancing rigorous academic work with part-time jobs as a pharmacy courier and a server. Her goal is to become a certified nurse midwife.

A right-side pin (RS) for the Knights volleyball team, Ellison “Ellie” Johnson holds MGA records for number of kills, assists, and points. She’s also a standout in the classroom, majoring in education with plans to earn a master’s degree and eventually return to her high school alma mater as a teacher and coach.

A psychology major and member of the prestigious President’s Torch Society, Samarion Perkins is using his time at MGA to prepare for a career dedicated to helping young people reach their full potential.

Now serving as editor-in-chief of Middle Georgia State University’s literary magazine, this Macon native, Army veteran, and full-time graduate student is using her talents to shape stories, strengthen her craft, and define her professional calling.
