Middle Georgia State is dedicated to serving the needs of all of our students, including non-traditional students. Adult Learners make up a large percentage of our student body and because of this, we offer a direct contact to help in the admissions process. Learn about all of the services we offer our non-traditional students by exploring below:
Have you graduated from an accredited high school or an accredited home school five or more years ago and not attended college?
All applicants must have a high school diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED).
The high school diploma must be issued from a high school accredited by a regional accrediting association, the Georgia Accrediting Commission, the Georgia Private School Accrediting Commission, the Accrediting Commission for Independent Study, or from a public school regulated by a school system and state department of education.
Graduates from a non-accredited high school or non-accredited home-school must submit the Home School and Non-accredited high school applicant procedures documentation to be considered for regular admission. Documentation submitted must demonstrate that the applicant has completed or comparable to an accredited high school diploma.
All applicants must submit lawful presence and any other supporting documents requested.
Applicants who have a High School Certificate (also called a Certificate of Performance) or a Special Education Diploma will not be considered to be high school graduates for admission purposes.
Freshman Requirements
Students must meet the following criteria for entrance into the institution:
Completion of high school diploma or GED.
Please note that admission standards are subject to change.
Program Admission Requirements
Depending on your major, some programs may have additional requirements beyond the general university admission standards. Refer to the MGA academic catalog for more information.
