Organizations and Opportunities
Study Abroad
MGA nursing students have the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland in partnership with South East Technological University in Waterford, Ireland. The purpose of this two week study abroad opportunity is to immerse students in the arts and the ways of living of the Irish through excursions and lectures on concepts related to leadership, health care systems, and research with undergraduate/graduate nursing students. Having students explore the Irish health care system assists in broadening their ability to make global connections. Students learn within and outside of the classroom. Ireland has a rich history that comes alive through its architecture, landscape, and native storytelling.
Study abroad opportunities also include a Spring Break service learning excursion in the Dominican Republic. The focus of this eight-day study abroad opportunity is to experience a small farming community; learn about the health care system; and screen residents for potential problems at a local clinic.
