Health Sciences Program

Welcome to the Health Sciences Program at Middle Georgia State University. We are excited you are considering a career in healthcare! The Middle Georgia region is rich in healthcare opportunities and has a robust healthcare community. We are pleased to offer two degree tracks in the Health Science program:

Bachelor of Science in Health Science

The Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree prepares students for a variety of positions within healthcare or public health organizations.  This degree can also serve as a stackable credential that meets prerequisite requirements into clinical programs such as a chiropractor, dentist, nurse, physician assistant or other healthcare professions.  It contains the prerequisite curricula required for many clinical and public health-related careers such as respiratory therapy and nursing. Graduates with this degree can work in diverse allied health professions to include:

Associate of Science in Health Science

This degree will provide prospective students with the opportunity to obtain their career and professional goals across an aggregate of credentials within the School of Health and Natural Sciences. The A.S. in Health Sciences is a degree completion program that requires successful completion of 60 credits as a preparatory option for students wishing to pursue the next level of higher education and admission into a baccalaureate health professions degree

Certificate of Health Science

The Certificate in Health Science is an entry-level credential that allows current high school students the opportunity to earn a certificate in a STEM related major while in high-school or upon completion of the credential requirements following high school graduation.  This certificate is specifically designed for dual-enrolled students in the Georgia Academy Program and available to other dual-enrolled students who meet the criteria for completion.
